Lightspeeds Computer Repair – Terms Of Service
I grant permission to Lightspeeds Computer Repair to perform any action deemed necessary by them, in an attempt to diagnose the problem(s) and repair my device. Furthermore, I (the customer) release & indemnify Lightspeeds Computer Repair from ANY liability claims for any data loss, component failures, incidental, consequential, accidental damages, pre-conditions OR the unknown occurring either before service, during diagnostics, attempted repair of, OR at ANY other time. My goal is to repair your device, NOT damage it purposely any further.
- CLAIMS FOR LIABILITY AND OR LOSS INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION WHICH MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF ANY LIGHTSPEEDS COMPUTER REPAIR ACTIONS (OR INACTIONS) ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY WAIVED.
- Diagnostics Estimate Of Repair Fee:
Included at no charge, with the authorized complete repair of the device.
After diagnostics, Lightspeeds Computer Repair will contact the customer with an estimate for repair. If the customer chooses to have Lightspeeds repair the computer, the diagnostics estimate fee will be waived or credited towards the complete repair.
If the customer declines the repair, or not reasonable to repair, diagnostics fee below applies:
– Desktop Computer Diagnostics Estimate Only Service (Repair Of Device Declined – Non Refundable) $40
– Insurance Diagnostics Estimate & Complete Report $65
Includes complete insurance report document with estimate of repair, and verbal communication with your insurance company.
- iPad Screen Repairs:
Very sensitive, delicate, “risky” repair even for the most experienced, especially on the iPad Mini & iPad Air 2 due to Apple’s design.
Keep in mind Apple does not repair there own iPads. Along with our “Claims For Liability” statement at the top of this very page:
Scratching the LCD, or damaging other components during the repair screen can occur very easily. Additional parts, services & costs might be required, which will delay the repair. Should this occur during the repair I will notify you with the additional costs before proceeding any further with the repair. You affirm, the customer will be responsible to cover the cost of the LCD or additional components should you choose to proceed with the repair.
- Data Backup Waiver & Liability:
The LOSS OF DATA IS A REAL AND INHERENT RISK. Maintaining current backups at all times is critical.
Every precaution is taken to preserve your data during the course of diagnostics and repair, however –
Customer agrees to have taken all necessary precautions by backing up all important, personal and proprietary data.
You affirm, that it is the customers sole responsibility for maintaining current backups of ALL important critical data, files, software, and information stored on your own device at ALL times.
You affirm, Lightspeeds Computer Repair shall not be held responsible or liable at ANY time for any data loss, disclosure, alteration or corruption of any data, software, information and files during the course of computer diagnostic or repair.
- You affirm, unless prior arrangements are made, payment is due on completion of work, or receipt of invoice.
- Methods of Payment: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Personal Check and Paypal.
- You affirm, customer will be charged a $30.00 service fee for any returned check with NFS.
- Scope of Services:
Lightspeeds Computer Repair will only perform the work agreed upon when you bring your device in for repair.
We cannot be held liable at any time for issues we were not asked to correct, or important information we were not made aware of. Service(s) are provided in an effort to fix, upgrade, or otherwise repair the device for which you request such service(s).
- Hardware Internals – Laptops & iPads:
You affirm, we cannot foresee any additional internal damage, problems, missing parts, screws, burned circuits, glass “shards”, broken plastic casings. plastic mounts, hinge mounts, plastic clips, locking clips, bent frame or the unknown UNTIL the device has been opened up, dis-assembled or damaged screen has been removed.
You affirm, with a damaged screen in for replacement or internal hardware diagnostics (for example), we cannot foresee, know in advance or be held liable in any way for any unknown additional problems until the screen has been replaced & viewable, or device has been disassembled. You acknowledge these unforeseen issues can cause a delay in the repair, complications in repair of, add cost to the repair OR impede the completion of the repair entirely. You must authorize, any additional work which may be required.
- Device Abandonment:
How long will Lightspeeds PC hold your device? > 45 days Period!
Due to the limited space and property liability issues, I CANNOT & WILL NOT hold your device forever. Keeping with this, all customers agree to make a diligent effort to keep in contact with Lightspeeds Computer Repair and decide how they would like their repair resolved in a timely manner. Every effort will be made to contact you by phone, email, voicemail messages, and certified letter in this event. All attempted contacts: by phone, times, dates, emails, dates etc are logged/recorded.
Equipment left behind, without returning our phone calls, voicemail messages, emails and not picked up or paid for AFTER 45 days will be deemed abandoned, and forfeited for unpaid services. Hardware installed or material in the repair will be removed from your equipment.
You affirm, understand and acknowledge equipment left behind after 45 days from invoice date will be deemed abandoned, and ownership forfeited.
You affirm, Lightspeeds Computer Repair Augusta GA will assume ownership of the property after 45 days from invoice date by our Terms Of Service for the purposes of securing the value of the services, labor and materials provided.
Your affirm, your equipment deemed abandoned by this Terms Of Service stated herein will be discarded, disposed, recycled or sold at no liability of Lightspeeds Computer Repair.
You affirm, Lightspeeds Computer Repair will not be held responsible or liable in any way for any device left behind after 45 days from invoice, or the data on those device left behind after 45 days, that has been deemed abandoned forfeited by the customer & Terms Of Service stated herein.
You affirm, any unpaid labor on the original repair of your abandoned device must be paid BEFORE any future services are provided.
- Repair Completion Time:
Completion of repairs will vary, but we will always try to have a 1-3 day turn-around.
This DOES NOT include if special order parts are required, delays in shipping, transport OR Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. Repairs are taken in the order they are received.
- Hardware Deposit:
Is required before ordering any parts or components that are required to repair your device.
You affirm, customer is responsible for checking, and updating definitions to anti virus software and applying security patches to the operating system AFTER the service completion date of repair on the computer.
Lightspeeds Laptop Computer Repair will not browse through your hard drive looking at your data. However, we may inadvertently see data during the course of the work. (Data Backup/Recovery for example) Please remove any personal or private files you do not want others to see. Lightspeeds Computer Repair respects the privacy of its customers and will not disclose any information to a third party unless permission is given or where Lightspeeds Laptop Computer Repair is obligated to by law.
- Repair Warranty:
All services shall be guaranteed for 45 days unless specified. We will demonstrate that the repair is complete at the time you pick up your device. However, if the issue resurfaces and is discovered by Lightspeeds Computer Repair to have been caused by negligence, misuse or physical damage on behalf or the customer or other third party, Lightspeeds Computer Repair shall not be held responsible, and the foregoing limited warranty will be void.
Hardware replaced by Lightspeeds PC Repair IF found defective, at fault will be replaced free of charge during our stated warranty period. No returns or refunds. Warranty Information
- Insurance Work:
All payment for unpaid parts, labor, repairs, services is due upon completion of work. This includes work that is covered by insurance. You are solely responsible for remitting payment to Lightspeeds Computer Repair Augusta. You are also solely responsible for any and all communications with your insurance provider.
- Computer Manufacturer Warranties:
You affirm, that you are aware that authorizing Lightspeeds Computer Repair to work on your computer may void the manufacturer’s warranty, if any. In addition, while every effort will be made by Lightspeeds Computer Repair to be aware of warranty conditions, you are solely responsible for knowing and understanding what is covered, or not covered by any manufacture warranty on your computer. Parts and labor on a system that is later discovered to have been covered by a manufacturer’s warranty is non-refundable.
- Right to Refuse:
You affirm, in its sole discretion, Lightspeeds Computer Repair reserves the right to refuse work that it believes is beyond the scope of its ability or for other good cause at ANY time during diagnostics or repair, with or without reason. At no charge to the customer.
- Limitation Of Liability:
You affirm, Lightspeeds Computer Repair shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, accidental, consequential damages, pre-existing problems or data loss. Including without limitation, loss of profits or business interruption. You agree, to release, indemnify and hold harmless Lightspeeds Computer Repair from ANY liability or ANY claims whether direct, indirect, incidental, accidental, consequential, pre-existing damages or conditions of any kind that may arise from the services performed. Any “liability” is limited to the amount you have paid Lightspeeds Computer Repair.
