Very ergonomic gun in weight, balance and grip. I have large to x-large hands, the gun feels very comfortable and well balanced. Polymer frame, so gun does not have the full weight of a 1911 .45. I held a Taurus 1911, and this Ruger SR45 in left and right hands at same time in store, quite a difference in weight between both guns, and in price. The Ruger SR45 has a slight cut-out where yours 4 fingers wrap around grip, which makes it very comfortable. I have no problems wrapping 4 fingers around the grip at all, with plenty of room. Back part of grip, between thumb and index finger is rubber. This rubber piece can easily slide out and be flipped around for a more rounded or arched grip on the back. I prefer the flat grip myself. Rear sight is adjustable.
I use Froglube strictly on all my firearms. No oil what so ever.
“Froglube is a cutting edge biodegradable completely green CLP firearms lubricant, cleaner and protectant. Made in the USA and developed in 2009 by former Navy SEAL. It is a non-toxic substance that dissolves carbon on contact. It has a heavy specific gravity, which enables it to ‘season’ the metal by absorption deep into the pores. Using FROGLUBE results in a durable dry slick wax-like surface that reduces friction, eliminates fouling, and destroys rust. Creates a durable and dry slippery surface that reduces friction and dissolves carbon on contact. Froglube is safe for plastic, urethane, nylon, and wood. Froglube will give your weapon many extended years of service. Froglube will not harm the environment.” Also has a very pleasant fresh minty or wintergreen scent.

The Ruger SR45’s is a striker fired handgun, no external hammer. trigger is super sweet. Think someone tested it in at 4-4.5lbs, very short distance, and very crisp. First time out with gun I was very impressed. At 15 feet I literally punch out the entire center paper target with about 25 rounds or so. For a .45, recoil management is excellent on this gun also.
Magazine Capacity is 10 rounds, plus 1 in chamber.
Ruger SR45’s iron sites are nice also. The rear post site markings are tight together so lining up with your front site is simple.
Photos above have the Ruger SR45 in an OWB by Aliengear holsters. Could be difficult to conceal due to size of gun and it’s grip. Winter colder months with larger jacket on probably would work well. Main carry is a S&W M&P Shield currently which is an excellent conceal carry. Aliengear offers a 30 day money back guarantee. Aliengear sends different spacers and screws to adjust the retention. With the Ruger AR45 and Aliengear OWB holster on hand, turning upside down gun will drop right out. But when on belt, and on your side leather tightens up on your side and retention is there. Aliengears holster shells are all swappable. They also offer “Free Shell Trades For Life”. Ordered an extra shell for a Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm,, gun grip and top leather on holster are to close cannot get a good grip on the Sig Sauer when drawing. Also on the Sig, magazine release catches top of leather when holstering and ejects magazine. So I reversed the mag release on the Sig Sauer to the trigger index finger side.

For $429 at local shop, for .45 cal, 1911 style, could not pass it up. It has been a great gun for the price. Easy to shoot & accurate. The only problem I had with it initially was when slide was locked back, magazines had trouble dropping out. ONLY with slide locked back this would happen. I cleaned, froglubed, took some fine grit 800 sandpaper and worked on magazine catch hole. Took SR45 to range and had no problems after that. Magazines dropped out with slide locked back with no problems.
My reviews are not that extensive as other sites. Just wanted to post photos and give you an idea of what there Ruger SR45 is about.
